Sunday, April 6 - Snake and Spider Day - Come and face your fears by attending a free Snake and Spider Day. There will be an opportunity for visitors to see a selection of snakes and spiders. Animal expert Maria Fountain will be at the garden centre to share her knowledge. Free advice and information will be available.
Saturday, April 12 - Tile Painting - Artists from Strawberry Studios in Weston-super-Mare will be in-store on Saturday, April 12 from 11am until 3pm to offer customers advice on the best techniques to paint tiles. Visitors will be able to try out some of their own designs on some blank tiles free of charge. The finished items will then be glazed and fired by Strawberry Studios.
Sunday, April 13 and Monday, April 14 - Paws and Claws Event with Secret World - On Sunday, April 13 Maria Fountain from Secret World animal rescue centre in East Huntspill, Somerset will be attending with animals and a selection of birds of prey. Maria will be able to give free advice and information to visitors regarding wildlife in the garden. On Monday, April 14 Beauty Apprentices from the Business Enterprise Centre at Weston College will be at the garden centre to pamper customers with nail treatments. All donations for treatments will go to Secret World.
Saturday, April 19 and Sunday, April 20 - Tomato and Chilli Weekend - Free tips and advice on growing your own tomatoes and chillies. Weekend includes the chance to test and taste tomato and chilli products and dishes. Information giving details of the two plants histories, health benefits and uses in cooking.

Saturday, April 26 - Fur and Feather Day with Secret World - Maria Fountain from Secret World will be attending with animals including a kestrel and other birds of prey. Maria will also be on hand to answer any questions and give free advice on furry and feathery animals.
Saturday, April 26 & Sunday, April 27 - Spring Lawn Care Weekend - Visitors will be provided with top tips and expert information on the best ways to look after their lawns this spring. The event includes a free ‘lawn care clinic’.
Saturday, May 3 & Sunday, May 4 - Wildlife Orphans Weekend with Secret World - Secret World will be attending with some of the many wildlife orphans it takes into care each year. Maria Fountain from the animal rescue centre will be at the garden centre to share her knowledge and advice. Visitors will learn what to do when coming across an orphaned animal.
Saturday, May 3 & Sunday, May 4 - Gardening for all the Senses Weekend - Ideas, displays and advice on plants and products to use if you or your family are allergy-prone or have lost one of their senses. There will be information on allergy-friendly gardening. National Allergy Week is from May 21 to 25.

Saturday, May 17 - Wisteria Day - Join John Addison from Cannington College for information and advice about Wisteria from 1pm – 4pm. Free advice and displays in-store.
Saturday, May 24 & Sunday, May 25 - Children’s Gardening Weekend - Gardening is fun for all the family. Enter our growing competitions and collect free pumpkin and marrow plants, while stocks last. Competitions open to children aged 11 and under.
Saturday, May 24 & Sunday, May 25 - Cooks’ Garden and Allotment Weekend - Find out how you can grow your own vegetables and fruit - even if you only have a patio or balcony.
May 27, 28, 29 and 30 - Wildlife Week with Secret World – Wildlife in your Garden with Secret World, which cares for orphaned animals, unwanted pets and injured wildlife, as well as helping nature and the environment through education and awareness. Representatives from the animal rescue centre will be on site from 10.30am until 4pm to give visitors advice on wildlife in their gardens. This event links in with National Wildlife Month.

Representatives from the Somerset wildlife welfare charity, Secret World and some of the creatures it cares for will be in-store and members of the Somerset and Bristol branch of the organisation Butterfly Conservation will be attending too.

Saturday, September 27 & Sunday, September 28 - Tree Weekend - The garden centre will dedicate itself to trees. There will be an arboriculturalist and tree surgeon on site during the weekend to answer questions. Free displays and information about selecting, growing and caring for your trees. The event covers all trees from apple trees to Christmas trees. There will be a selection of saplings for sale priced £1 each and proceeds from the sale of these will be donated to charity.
Saturday, October 11 & Sunday, October 12 - Apple & Cider and Forgotten Fruits Weekend - The event includes free advice on how to select, grow and care for Medlars, Quince, Red & White currants and other fruits. It includes our famous apple festival to coincide with the Common Ground National Apple Day - apple varieties on show, many to taste and buy. There will be lots of free expert advice.
Sunday, October 26, to Tuesday, October 28 - Hedgehog Roadshow with Secret World - Staff from the garden centre will be joining forces with animal rescue service Secret World to host a Hedgehog Roadshow. Come and meet some of the animal charity’s prickly friends and find out how you can care for any hedgehogs that come into your garden. There will also be advice on feeding and housing.
Monday, October 27 to Friday, October 31 – Pumpkin Time - To tie in with Halloween, free pumpkin carving workshops for children. Demonstrations on how you can create everything from sea monsters to cats from your pumpkins. Ask at reception for full details. Booking required.
